Breakfast in a Pink Tropical Haven and Get a Pretty Pedi in Beverly Hills

Welcome to Perfect Saturday, a semi-regular Racked feature in which we outline the best places to shop and spend the afternoon in a particular neighborhood, starting with brunch and ending—who knows!

We're not always feeling luxe (cut to us in pj's binge-watching the first three episodes of Empire currently), but when we're in the mood to tap into our inner princess there's one LA 'hood that can always get us feeling fancy vibes. Maybe its all the times we watched Troop Beverly Hills as a child but good ol' BH always evokes fashionable and fabulous feels. If you're in need of a little umph in the glam department, consider heading to the area to get back your mojo. We've outlined our favorite spots to grab an old-school Hollywood breakfast, nab eco-friendly nail art, and beautify your brows for the perfect Saturday in Beverly Hills.

Start your morning with a classic breakfast at Fountain Coffee Room(9641 Sunset Boulevard), the perfectly 1940's/50's diner within the Beverly Hills Hotel. Soak in the nostalgic decor for which the hotel is notorious—palm leaf wallpaper and pink everything (just begging for its Instagram close-up!)—and get oh-so fancy with a sour cream and caviar omelet or indulge with quintessential silver dollar pancakes. And not everything in this historic spot is old-fashioned; you can now score fresh pressed juices from Pressed Juicery in addition to your cup of joe.

Full disclosure: Yes, we love heading to Olive and June (430 N Canon Drive) for their impeccable mani/pedis and the fact that they have non-toxic polish options (our nails would say a big THANK YOU if they could) but a main reason why we love this sweet nail salon is the chic interior. Something about the cool leather lounge chairs and flower garlands have us feeling like that massage lady emoji when we're there—instead of in a hectic, wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am spot that's just trying to get you in and out the door. You'll be pampered in style with the array of services (their most basic "June" starts at $20 for a mani and $28 for a pedi) and head out feeling ready for your hand modeling debut.

Just across the way, you can count on Brighton Salon (9409 Brighton Way) to get the rest of you totally beautified. Though we should warn you—if you want to include a stop here as part of your perfect Saturday, you'll want to make sure to make an appointment in advance! The talented team here get booked up quickly. As for services, we can say firsthand that a brow grooming from Nicoleta will fully change your life—or at least your face's life. This brow whisperer's basic services start at $125, and she can even discuss semi-permanent makeup option so you can wake up like that. Add on a killer blowout (starting at $40); we recommend new addition to the salon Joseph Henry to whip your locks into submission.
