Hair Horror Stories

This Halloween, what could be better than a hair horror story? When it comes to celebrity hair, no title could be more apt than ‘the good, the bad and the ugly.’ When celebs get it right, they really get it right but when they get it wrong they serve as a cautionary tale for the rest of us. Here are some of the worst offenders:

Kelly Osborne

Kelly Osborne has never really been in sync with her own style. In her younger years, she most certainly experimented but her styles did not suit her face shape. Short and too shaped, Kelly’s face needs length and layers.

Scarlett Johansson

Come hell or high water, Johansson is a striking woman and even a bad hair style can’t devalue her gorgeousness. Nonetheless, Scarlett has opted for a few styles that made us scratch our heads. She went for a mullet earlier on in her career and for the life of us we can’t think why.

Kesha

Unconventional and rebellious, Kesha brings a little old school rock and roll back to the seat with punkish bleached dos. The problem is that none of these looks are very refined or flattering. Top marks for ‘I don’t give a damn’ though.

Nicki Minaj

Minaj loves experimenting with vibrant colors and animal print and although we like her fearless approach, we feel she always falls short. Minaj looks miles better when she embraces a more natural, darker look than she does with all of the cartoonish imagery. Case in point: less is more.

Britney Spears

When Britney is styled, she looks jaw-droppingly spectacular but when she has to style herself, she falls at the first hurdle. It’s not such a big deal. A lot of women are not naturals when it comes to their own hair. Britney doesn’t seem to know what suits her. She doesn’t know her ‘hair basics’ and she falls short when it comes to hair care and maintenance. She also tends to go ‘too blonde’ for her natural coloring which can make her look brassy.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay’s natural locks were to dye for (get it?). Many a client would spent a small fortune to achieve her flame red hue. Unfortunately, Lindsay opted to blend in with the crowd, choosing a shade of blonde that washed her out and made her utterly generic. Lindsay’s color made her stand out and was a genetic blessing. Fortunately, she seems to have fallen back in love with her red hair recently.
